Kenji Gjovig

TPG Role:

Kenji is a Partner in the Retail Practice at The Partnering Group.  His focus is on eCommerce (Retailer & Supplier), eCommerce Category Leadership, Category Leadership 360, and Joint Business Planning.

Partner Capabilities and Experience:

Kenji brings more than a decade of Retail, CPG, and eCommerce experience.  His most recent experience was at Content Analytics, a fast-growing eCommerce analytics and content management technology company where he was VP of Partnerships & Business Development.  He brought on new accounts with major consumer goods companies including: P&G, PepsiCo, J&J, Kimberly-Clark, Mondelez, Georgia Pacific, Colgate-Palmolive, Hostess, Atkins, Nest, and Snyder’s Lance.  He developed a new channel of distribution selling analytics to retailers including Target, Kroger, Home Depot, Sainsburys, and Cencosud.

Prior to Content Analytics, Kenji started an eCommerce consulting company (High Tide Consulting) to help manufacturers optimize their eCommerce go to market with  He grew the business quickly with a portfolio of more than 60 clients in the first year.  He then sold High Tide Consulting to Content Analytics.

Kenji spent 7 years at Walmart across a number of roles.  He served as the Buyer of Baking & Spices at Sam’s Club, a $750M category of products where he exceeded all financial metrics every year.  He founded Sam’s Club’s Joint Business Planning program which is a best-in-industry program to elevate the partnership between Sam’s Club’s buyers and suppliers.  He brought this capability to as Walmart began accelerating their eCommerce efforts.

Prior to his retail career, Kenji spent 7 years in the US Navy including tours on a fast attack nuclear submarine (USS Salt Lake City) and at the US Navy’s European Headquarters in Naples, Italy.

Partner Education:

Kenji earned his BS in Oceanography from the U.S. Naval Academy, and his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
