Marc is a Partner in the Customer Development and Retail Practice, with a focus on Digital Commerce Transformation.

Partner Capabilities and Experience:

Marc brings over 25 years of global food retail experience across strategy, financial analysis, innovation and consulting roles. He is a recognized expert in online grocery strategy and fulfillment, automation and future-proofing. As a former financial analyst, he has a deep understanding of the economics of online grocery and the particular challenges it presents for brick and mortar retailers. As a natural out-of-the-box thinker with a passionate presentation style, he helps grocers see how these challenges can be overcome with the right combination of technology and people. At the same time Marc also helps CPG suppliers to identify and alleviate their retail customers’ online pain points through effective collaboration and innovation.

Marc has also created and successfully piloted a unique staff and customer engagement program aimed at changing what it means to work and shop in supermarkets, while helping people to eat more healthily and sustainably.

Partner Industry Experience:

Before joining The Partnering Group, Marc acted as an independent consultant to major grocery retailers in Europe and the US, helping them better understand and manage online market dynamics, key profit drivers, and the trade-offs between cost and service in order fulfillment. He has also been advisor to Alert Innovation, Walmart’s partner for automated online order fulfillment, with a focus on a hybrid future store concept combining the best of the online and offline experience with lower cost to serve.

Prior to that, Marc covered food retailers around the world as an equity analyst, based in Asia, Latin America, the US and Europe. He started his career as buying agent for major retailers such as Walmart, Fred Meyer, and Marks and Spencer.

Marc has been a regular speaker at major grocery events, such as Shoptalk/Grocerytalk, the World Retail Congress, FMI Connect and the Consumer Goods Forum.
