Jeff is a partner in The Partnering Group consulting and training with both manufacturers and retailers.

Partner Capabilities and Experience:

Jeff has experience and provides leading edge consulting on Customer Management, Marketing and Sales Training and Best Practice “Go to Market” Processes, Tools and Analytics. Jeff also works with leading CPG manufacturers to expand their category leadership in the foodservice and B2B markets. Jeff’s most recent work includes Shopper Marketing Best Practices development as part of The Retail Commission on Shopper Marketing and The Foodservice Category Management Innovation Board.

Jeff has worked numerous projects in the packaged meat and fresh meat categories on the Retail and Foodservice businesses.  This has included Department Reinvention for refrigerated meats and Sausage Innovation and CLP for Foodservice meats.  This work included primary research focused on the Shopper/Consumer in the Retail meat sector and Operator/Patron research focused on meat choices, menu impact and recipe attraction.

Partner Industry Experience:

Jeff has over 20 years of sales and marketing experience in consumer packaged goods and financial services.  He worked for over nine years at Procter & Gamble Co., in numerous high-level sales and management roles. Jeff was responsible for the retail execution plan during the launch of Pampers and Luvs Phases diapers, including all in-store merchandising and marketing. He was also instrumental in leading one of P&G’s first Cross Functional Teams at The Kroger Co.

After P&G, he was Director of Strategic Category Management at James River Corp. at JR he created and led the multifunctional Strategic Business Development Group. He managed all “go to market” strategies and initiatives including sales planning, cross-functional communication, and trade spending. In this capacity he also worked in concert with ECR and two grocery retailers to create the Best Practices Efficient Assortment process.

He went on to Pepperidge Farms, a $1billion division of The Campbell Soup Co as V.P. Customer Development and Marketing. He was responsible for building the first category management, customer development and trade spending department at Pepperidge Farms. In that role he managed a $75 million trade budget. He created a new strategic plan to enhance corporate trade programs, and generated a 12% category spending efficiency improvement.

Jeff later moved to the financial services to successfully re-apply CPG best practices. He joined American Express as VP Relationship Marketing.  Jeff was responsible for leading the development of customer-specific business plans and developed the first sales automation system. Jeff reapplied the learnings from American Express at US Bank and CheckFree Corp. where he held senior marketing positions.

Most recently, Jeff was President of Creative Culinary Marketing Solutions and was responsible for building a marketing and sales team that launched CulinaryPrep, the first kitchen appliance that removes bacteria from food while it enhances taste. CulinaryPrep went from concept to revenue in less than nine months. The product has been featured on The CBS Early Show, The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch and in Inc. magazine.

Partner Education:

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Marketing and Risk Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
