Background

The clients non foods business had aggressive growth aspirations (double the business in 3 years) and required new and leading edge insights capabilities to build the strategies to enable this goal.

Objective

Develop a new, robust yet simple approach, to enable the retailers team to understand the shopper needs in the business, and enable the teams to use this insight in their planning and day to day business.

TPG Approach

Working with a small team, TPG developed the 10 ‘killer’ business questions that needed to be answered on an on going basis, and working with external data providers, developed a dashboard of shopper insights that are now provided to the merchandising/trading team on a monthly basis.

Impact/Results

Business on track to achieve its aggressive sale goals, and all trading teams are now able to access industry leading insights on which they can base their plans and day to day decisions.
