Terry has leveraged his wide breadth of experience to lead the successful reinvention of the private label programs at three of the largest retailers in the country: Dollar General, Safeway and Albertsons. Bringing deep expertise in retail merchandising, private brand strategy, brand development, new products, supplier strategy and marketing he has created some of the leading retailer private programs, brands and products in the market today.
Terry’s retail experience spans multiple channels of trade. As a member of the senior management team that led the transformation of Dollar General into its industry leading position, he brings unique expertise and insights for clients seeking to develop this important, rapidly growing channel of trade.
Terry brings a unique combination of both retail expertise and an in depth knowledge of manufacturing. He has held both brand management and new product leadership roles with several consumer product companies in multiple product categories. His knowledge of the entire supply chain allows Terry to effectively communicate and consult with both retailers and manufacturers.

Terry’s has held senior management leadership roles with multiple retailers across multiple channels of trade including:
- Vice President, Private Brands – Dollar General (dollar channel retailer, 10,000+ locations)
- Vice President, Corporate Brands – Albertsons (food and drug retailer, 2500+ locations)
- Vice President, Corporate Brands for Safeway (food and drug retailer, 1800+ locations in U.S. and Canada).
Terry led the rapid and successful transformation of each retailer’s private label program into a fast growing, highly profitable consumer focused product marketer. He has been recognized with numerous awards from trade publications and organizations including the PLMA (Private Label Manufacturer’s Association) Retailer of the Year award.
Terry has also held senior marketing and new product positions with leading consumer products companies including Del Monte and Nabisco.
Terry serves on the faculty of the PLMA’s St. Joseph’s University Private Label Executive Education Program and instructs in programs in the United States and China. He has been a keynote speaker on the subject of private label and the dollar channel at industry conferences in the U.S., China and Mexico.
Terry holds a Masters of Business Administration degree from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles and a Bachelors Degree in Microbiology from the University of California. He is also a graduate of the USC Food Industry Management Program.
