Jon is a Partner in the Customer Development Practice at The Partnering Group. His focus is on Category Leadership, Shopper Marketing and Shopper Insights consulting for CPG clients.
Partner Capabilities and Experience:
Jon brings over 30 years CPG Retail, Sales, Category Leadership and Insights experience, across Manufacturers, Sales Agents and Service Providers. Jon’s most recent experience was at Campbell’s, where he was Director of Category Strategy and Retailer Insights for the Retail Sales Organization. He has held Sales, Category Leadership and Shopper Insights positions with Boston Beer, Johnson & Johnson, Church & Dwight and Campbell’s, as well as leadership roles at Information Resources and Nielsen. He started his career at General Foods Corporation.
Partner Industry Experience:
During his time in CPG and Retail, Jon had extensive experience in brand, category, customer and Shopper Insights strategies, consumer and shopper research and organization design. Jon led a team at Campbell’s that built and leveraged Shopper Insights to fuel Category Leadership, dramatically increasing team effectiveness and customer partnerships, as well as category and brand sales.
Over his career, Jon has built Category Leadership and Strategy teams for multiple companies, including Boston Beer and Church & Dwight, and brought new technologies, analytical frameworks and advanced capabilities to each of the organizations he’s worked with. He also led Category Leadership work in the industry, as a subcommittee lead for the Category Management Association’s “Strategic Collaboration for Shopper Satisfaction” white paper, as well as a steering committee member for the Category Management Association’s “Catman 2.0” white paper.
Jon received his BA in Mass Communication from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
