Jan is a TPG partner in the Customer Development Practice, specializing in the use of predictive analytics and marketing research to address a wide range of CPG, retailer and pharmaceutical sales and marketing issues.
Partner Capabilities and Experience:
Jan is an internationally recognized marketing science executive known for developing and applying advanced analytics, predictive models and business intelligence solutions for CPG companies, retailers and syndicated data providers to model consumer behavior in hundreds of product categories.
Jan holds an adjunct faculty position teaching multivariate data analysis at DePaul University’s Kellstadt Graduate School of Business and DePaul’s College of Computing and Digital Media Graduate Center for Data Mining & Predictive Analytics. He is a Lecturer at the University of Chicago, The Graham School teaching in the MSc Predictive Analytics program. Jan teaches multivariate data analysis at Loyola University’s Quinlan Graduate School of Business and Loyola’s Executive MBA program.
Partner Industry Experience:
Prior to TPG, Jan founded the Delta Modelling Group, which provides CPG companies with advanced forecasting, trade analytics, baseline modeling and business intelligence software to quantify sales and marketing ROI.
Jan has held senior executive positions at Nielsen, Nielsen International and Information Resources Inc. Under his leadership, Jan’s analytical teams pioneered the development of many of the widely accepted POS scanner based models used in trade analytics, price promotion elasticity and marketing mix modeling. The knowledge and insights gained through data-driven analytics has led to corporate revenue growth and profits for the world’s largest CPG and retail companies. At The Nielsen Company, Jan served as Vice-President, Global Analytics for Kraft Foods.
Jan was the Solution Leader within the CPG vertical market for Clarkston Consulting’s Trade Promotion Optimization Practice.
Jan holds an MBA in Economics from Lehigh University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Moravian College. Jan is the 2013 recipient of the Distinguished Professional Educator Award from DePaul University.
