Don is a Partner in The Partnering Group, focused principally in the supply chain practice. He has participated in several client engagements relating to organization design that focus on supplier’s customer teams (especially at Walmart) and customer facing for supply chain management. His expertise in this area has helped clients understand the commercial value of Customer Service and effective supply chain management.
Partner Capabilities and Experience:
Don’s area of expertise is Supply Chain Management with a focus on the integration of Manufacturer and Retailer operations. This includes strategy development, organizational redesign and the implementation of best practices that are designed to improve overall business results via improved supply chain performance. He has wealth of experience in designing and leading new organizations.
Partner Industry Experience:
Prior to joining The Partnering Group, Don had a 33 year career at Procter & Gamble where he led or participated in many corporate initiatives to leverage innovation, organizational redesigns, business integration, globalization, and Supply Chain Development. He helped pioneer P&G’s multi-functional team based Customer Business Development organization as a designer and “charter member” of the Wal-Mart Customer Business Development Team where he was Director of Customer Service and Logistics for P&G’s global business with Wal-Mart until his retirement in 2004.
As a supply chain executive at P&G, Don was very involved in developing corporate strategy for the company’s global customers. He helped lead the development of vendor managed replenishment systems, streamlined logistics programs which offered pricing incentives for efficient logistics practices, and other supply chain innovation projects such as RFID.
Since his retirement from P&G, Don has also served as an Executive in Residence and Instructor in the Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas where he is teaching undergraduate level courses in the Supply Chain Management Department (http://waltoncollege.uark.edu/lscm/). He is also a faculty advisor to the University’s Supply Chain Management Research Center.
Don graduated from Lebanon Valley College in Annville, PA with a B.A. in Psychology.
