TPG Role:

Chris is a Managing Director for TPG’s European and Talent Development Practice and works with both manufacturers and retailers.

Partner Capabilities and Experience:

Chris has worked in the CPG Industry for over 20 years, both in Manufacturer Sales and Marketing, and Retail Marketing. His area of focus is helping business better understand their consumer and shopper needs, and translate this understanding into business and category plans, category vision, and breakthrough tactical ideas to transform a categories performance.

Chris has worked across the globe delivering transformational projects with clients, recent project examples including the development of a global category vision and strategy, the reorganisation of a commercial function of a manufacturer and the development and delivery of a skills curriculum in category management  for a global retailer.

As an industry thought leader, Chris has spoken at numerous industry events, and authored the recent ECR Blue Book with Brian Harris on ‘The Consumer and Shopper Journey’.

Partner Industry Experience:

Prior to joining TPG, Chris was Customer Planning Manager for Tesco. At Tesco Chris was responsible for developing and executing Category Plans for the Grocery division, and was also responsible for the Marketing of the Tesco Finest launch. Before joining Tesco, Chris worked with RHM. There he was responsible for introducing and implementing a Category Management process as a way of working, as well as working in sales managing the Tesco account.

Partner Education:

Chris received his BA from Manchester Polytechnic in Retail Marketing, and holds a Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, and is currently studying for a PhD at Cranfield School of Management.
