TPG Role:

Amit is a partner in The Partnering Group based in India. He is responsible for TPG’s work in the areas of general management, merchandising, marketing, consulting and training for manufacturer and retail clients in India and IT business solutions globally.

Partner Capabilities and Experience:

Amit has more than ten years of international work experience. His retail experience includes store management, business and systems analysis and operations management. His primary experience is that of a project manager and an application developer creating custom IT and business solutions. His experience in the fields of retail and IT allows him to bridge the gap between the two fields and develop customized IT based business solutions for the modern business practices that have been offered by TPG to the manufacturers and retailers worldwide for two decades.

Partner Industry Experience:

Amit has worked in United States, Canada and India. He has worked with retailers like Wal-Mart Canada and Sears Canada in various roles such as store management, business and systems analysis and operations management. He has worked as an Assistant Store Manager in Wal-Mart Canada responsible for the sales, budget, merchandising and operations of the store before moving to their IT division where he worked as a project manager leading several projects through the systems development life cycle and training end users on the new systems and business solutions. He has also worked with IT companies like Nortel Networks (both in US and Canada) and Common Knowledge Research Services. He led the global business team in Nortel Networks to develop and implement a web based marketing tool to track potential clients. Also created various customized desktop applications to automate data analysis and report generation

Partner Education:

Amit holds a Masters degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Mumbai and also a Masters degree in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Dallas. Amit is also a certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt professional.
